Water is precious
- we are much more aware of this now.

Water restrictions during dry periods are now common - and some of these restrictions will become permanent.

But now YOU can significantly reduce YOUR mains water
consumption, without compromising YOUR lifestyle.

A wide range of rainwater and grey water collection,
storage and distribution methods are now available.

Rainwater and greywater solutions

The following illustrations and descriptions are from one
major manufacturer but we can source items from a selection
of suppliers to suit your specific requirements
- and your budget

Rainwater tanks to suit every site
These tanks, of high quality UV stabilised polyetheylene, are guaranteed for 15 years.
Sizes are from 300 litres to 30,000 litres in a range of 11 colours.

If your site permits, an underground tank provides an excellent large capacity storage solution. Easy to install with a shallow excavation depth of 900mm these tanks can be installed anywhere, even under a carport or driveway.

  Some rainwater distribution management options
For automatic control of either your stored rainwater supply for
domestic use or to water your garden, or both simultaneously,
an electronic pressure pump is ideal
For an even more automated option, this Rainwater Flush System will control rainwater from your storage tank to your toilets and washing machine and also for your garden. If your rainwater tank runs out of water, the system automatically switches to your normal mains water supply.

  A valuable rainwater catchment option
With diverters fitted to some of your downpipes
it is also possible to capture water while rain is
falling and divert that to irrigate areas of your
garden that are missed by your irrigation system
or that don’t get wet even when it rains.

This way enables you to use rainwater that
would otherwise be lost to your stormwater
pipes to water ferneries, potplants and areas
under the eaves - or even top up your pool or spa.

What is greywater?
Grey water is the wastewater from the bathroom, laundry and dishwasher but NOT from the toilet

It contains levels of pathogenic micro-organisms so it must be treated with care.

But grey water also contains nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium, which are mostly beneficial
to plants - except for some native plants that have a low phosphorous tolerance.

The best method of re-using grey water, without using expensive treatment and disinfection methods,
is through sub-surface irrigation
              Greywater diverters
  • need minimal maintenance
  • no operational or maintenance costs after installation
  • gravity feed means no pumps needed to operate
  • compact, slimline design and can be painted
  • waters your garden automatically — whenever you wash
  • can be fitted to single or multiple outlets
